Christmas in Florida ~ needless to say, a little different than up north. Santa’s area at the mall included a manatee with a boat (instead of reindeer and a sleigh) and palm trees instead of pine trees. This photo was taken at Edison Mall in Ft. Myers.

Parrot Key held a charity event tonight with a silent auction and raffles to benefit the Spirit of Christmas Foundation of Southwest Florida. It was a little chilly, so the outside patio was enclosed and they had the heaters going, but they had a good crowd and hopefully raised a lot of money for a good cause.

Monroe KOA was full of Halloween decor this weekend ~ this was a campsite just across the road. Some of the campers go all out ~ we counted at least 5 walk-through “haunted houses” while the kids trick-or-treated around the campground.

Halloween weekend at Monroe KOA campground ~ our annual family camping trip. It was rainy and cold when we got into camp this Friday, so I was soooooo thankful we had this extra heater! It was toasty in the cabin. 🙂
