More color for the kitchen. We decided that there was just too much white in there, so we added more peach on the walls.

We’re still on a mission to get rid of as much white as possible at home. The valance on the blinds was ~ any guesses? ~ white to match the blinds. I changed the valance fabric to match the plaid fabric on the barstools I showed you yesterday. More color ~ YAY!

We decided to recover/paint the barstools in our kitchen. The old view is shown above. Below is the new look ~ I like it!

Finished! (at least with the paint and border) We’re pretty happy with the way it turned out. It definitely adds color which was totally lacking before. I’m not sure why the wall in the second “After” photo turned out pink ~ it’s not. My next goal is to do something with the wall above my desk. I’ll have to think about that one, but it will surely involve photos.

New border for the kitchen/dining/craft room ~ from The Blonder Co. Book "PARADISE BAY." I found it online at WallUSA for $9.99 a roll ~ original MSRP was $31.99. What a great deal! (patting myself on the back) I love shopping online. 🙂

Love the new color! By Glidden, it’s called “True Peach” Very sunny ~ it brought some much-needed color into the dining/craft space. Like my hubby says, it “pops”!

Bless this mess … They say things have to look worse before they look better. This is our current mess ~ my armoire emptied so that we can move it away from the wall ~ everything in the middle of the dining/craft room. Next step is painting the lower half of the room beneath the chair rail. Can’t wait to see how it looks!

Why is it so difficult to choose a paint color? I guess it’s because you feel like you have to pick the perfect shade to go with the border you just ordered ~ and not clash with the living room right next to it. I have to learn to be a little less picky ….

One of my hubby’s new toys is a nail gun which he bought along with a compressor and a compound miter saw. He’s in hog’s heaven! So far he’s put crown molding and chair rail in both bedrooms ~ now for the rest of the house. He’s pretty happy having a summer project and new toys!

While I’ve been sitting in my chair with a bum foot, my hubby’s been working hard putting up crown molding and chair rail. He finished the guest room today with a lighter color of paint above the chair rail (it’s actually a lighter yellow, even though it looks cream colored). He does awesome work!
