9-22 Doll coat

After having this embroidered denim fabric forever, I decided to sew a coat for Maya’s doll as a birthday present ~ hope she likes it 🙂

7-15 New fabrics

Fresh out of the washer ~ my new fabric stash from Goodwill.  I’m really drawn to bright colors and a lot of florals.  I saw a lot more that I would have bought, but I usually only buy what’s on sale at half price (I’m trying real hard to be frugal).

6-30 Laptop Sleeve 6-30 Laptop Sleeve 2

I had bought a laptop sleeve for my Dell yesterday at Best Buy ~ brought it home and, of course, it didn’t fit (just a smidgeon too small).  So I told creative self to go ahead and make one!  I used fabrics that I already had, along with two layers of fleece interfacing. I love the way it turned out and it saved me $25.00!

Someone on Etsy asked me if I could make a Ditto-Klip (my own design) to match a purse she had which was made from Amy Butler fabrics (Lacework in Sage and Full Moon Polka Dot in Tangerine).  I didn’t have those fabrics on hand, but I was able to purchase them from Eden’s Garden of Fabrics (also on Etsy).  Once I finished the Ditto-Klip, I had fabric left over ~ so naturally I made a little mini One-Snap Wallet and a Zipster Pouch to list in my shop.  Happily, I sold all three to the girl who wanted the Ditto-Klip.  I love when that happens!

Big Pleated bag - inside

Finished!  I really like how this Big Pleated Bag turned out.  I learned two things in the process ~ how to make a fabric-covered button and how to use the buttonhole foot on my sewing machine.  The bag’s a lot bigger than the ones I usually carry ~ and I’m torn between keeping it for myself (every girl needs one big bag, don’t they?) and putting it in the shop.  I’ll probably keep it around for a while and look at it because I think it’s awfully pretty.  🙂

6-23

Work in progress ~ Day 2.  I love this fabric by Tracy Porter that I got at Joann’s, so I decided to use it for the lining of the bag I started yesterday.  I really like bright colorful fabrics for the insides of my bags.

6-22 Work in progress

Work in progress.  I found this floral fabric a while back at one of the thrift stores I frequent ~ it’s a heavy drapery/upholstery fabric so it’ll make a nice tote bag once it’s finished.  Not sure what I’m going to do with the design yet ~ it’s still in the planning stages ~ but this is the outside so far.

6-13 Pants

It all started with this pair of pants I found at Goodwill.  I turned those into these:
